What is Telepathy?

When people think of telepathy, the word “mind reading” is usually what people associate with the term.

Popular culture has given telepathy somewhat of a ‘hocus pocus’ reputation. It is usually portrayed in movies and comic books as ‘mind reading’, where superheroes can easily access the conscious thoughts of others. Another common representation is ‘mind control’ where people are capable of influencing others thoughts and actions.

Leave it to the movies to dramatics and overstate the truth. In reality, everyone is capable of telepathic skills.

The official definition of telepathy stems from greek origins meaning ‘distant’ and ‘to be affected by’. Or in laymen’s terms, the transfer of information on thoughts and feelings between to beings through your subjective senses.

Objective senses are your basic five- sight, smell, touch, taste, sound – while subjective are those that can be more or less described as intuition, connections and a feeling of knowing.

An everyday example of telepathy can be seen in many intuitive experiences all of us have. When you answer a question before it gets asks, when you think of someone and all of a sudden the phone rings and its that very person.

This feeling of ‘knowing’ (commonly referred to as intuition) many brush off as a coincidence, but something bigger is at work. This actually your subjective senses picking up on information and relaying it to your conscious mind.

This commonly happens without the person making any conscious effort, but it is possible to train, harness and control your subjective senses.

Although some people just naturally have a stronger intuitive and subjective sense, everyone can develop theirs and actively use telepathy in their lives.
