Extrasensory perception or E.S.P. stands for extrasensory perception and it refers to the ability to gain insight on a subject without using the physical senses. This means, knowing about a subject without getting to see, hear, smell, taste, or feel it.
Although extrasensory perception has never been ‘proven’ by the scientific community many studies done have proven that it is possible. In fact, E.S.P. is a rather broad topic with many different abilities under its over arching umbrella. Many of these phenomena have scientific evidence to back up their existence.
Clairvoyance, Telepathy and E.S.P.
One part of extrasensory perception is clairvoyance. People who have the ability of clairvoyance can see things happening before they actually happen. This knowing can come from dreams, visions, or just a feeling. Often people who experience these visions start them in childhood or after a traumatic experience, but many believe that anyone can tap into the powers of clairvoyance.

Another part of extrasensory perception is telepathy. This means being able to read others thoughts or send your thoughts to another person. This is especially true when working with the person you are trying to communicate with and developing a close relationship with them.
All of these phenomena fall under the umbrella of parapsychology; which works to study what seems to be scientifically unexplainable. The field of parapsychology starts in the 1930’s at Duke University. It has grown over the years and with the internet exploded as a profession. Currently there are over 200 television shows that feature some part of the study of parapsychology and the people that are involved with these studies. This includes, so called, ghost hunting.
What has been proven is people are able to read more easily when they believe that the can. People who believe in E.S.P. do better on parapsychological tests than people who think it is a scam. It has also been proven that people under hypnosis, in a meditative state, or very relaxed have an easier time of using the powers of extrasensory perception than someone completely alert or stressed.
These studies prove that the powers of E.S.P. are possible for anyone who wants to be able to tap into them. By knowing we hold these powers and allowing them to flow through us anyone can have extrasensory perception.
